Mira Schendel
She was a Brazilian artist and one of the most significant figures in contemporary art, particularly known for her innovative works that explore language, perception, and the relationship between the viewer and the artwork. (Born in 1919 in Zurich, Switzerland, Schendel moved to Brazil in 1929.)
Schendel’s work spans various medium, including painting, drawing, and installation, she is particularly known for her use of simple materials, such as paper and transparent plastic, to create delicate, ethereal works that often engage with themes of language and communication.
